Maximizing the Bounties of Summer Sport
An extraordinary Ashes series keeps delivering.
What a fantastic Ashes series we’re being treated to. Whether you managed to make it to Headingley or if, like some of us, you were glued to the TV or Radio 4, there was no escaping the excitement that the crucial third test match delivered. In what was a ‘must-win’ game for the England men’s cricket team, Ben Stokes and the team snatched victory from the jaws of defeat to keep the series alive. England are now trailing 2-1 in the 5-game series with two to play. Winning three in a row against a fantastic Australian team will always be a tall order, but England are still in the seriesand all of us at Gasm are cheering the team on. If you’re planning to go to a game, remember to buy flavoured Prosecco online and stock up on the best champagne-style cocktail money can buy! Choose your favourite and buy Gasm fizz cocktails directly from us here.
A changing of the guard at Wimbledon?
Elsewhere in what is turning out to be a fantastic summer for sports fans, the prodigiously talented Carlos Alcaraz became the first player to beat Novak Djokovic on Centre Court for ten years. It was a tremendous match, and some think it represents the passing of the torch from the old generation to the new. Although Djokovic might have something to say about that! In the women’s final, the Czech player Marketa Vondrousova made history by becoming the first unseeded female player to win Wimbledon when she beat Ons Jabeur in straight sets. It was a great tournament and congratulations to both of the winners.
Gasm Drinks on social media.
We were so pleased that a fan sent us a photo of an about-to-be-popped bottle of Plum Gasm at Centre Court. As a family business trying to spread the word about our award-winning (more on that later) Champagne-style cocktails, having followers on social media really does help. You can keep up with us on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn: it’s the easiest way to support what we’re doing and it’s a bit of fun, too.
We’ve been named the best Champagne-style cocktails producer in 2023.
It’s always nice to be acknowledged by the industry for the quality of our fizz cocktails. In 2021, we won a coveted Great Taste Award for Sloeberry Gasm and this year we are overwhelmed to have been named ‘The Best Champagne Style Cocktails Producer 2023’ at the SME News Business Elite Awards. We’ve put a lot of work into our range of fruit gin-infused ready-to-drink cocktails: awards like this help us know it’s all been worthwhile. If you’d like to see for yourself, purchase flavoured Prosecco online and stock up on Gasm here.
Next stop – The Royal Welsh Show.
When it comes to major summer events, they don’t come much bigger than The Royal Welsh Show, especially for lovers of rural life and agriculture. It’s also an event that holds a very special place in our hearts, as it’s where we launched Gasm Drinks back in 2021. This year’s show runs from Monday 24th to Thursday 27th July. We’ll be exhibiting, of course, so make sure to pop by and see us in the Food Hall and pick up a bottle or two. The Food Hall is always chock full of fantastic Welsh produce and the whole event is a terrific, family-friendly day out. We urge you to come along.
The Game Fair.
If you can’t make it to Llanelwedd but still want to immerse yourself in the delights of the British countryside, fear not, as we’ll also be spreading the good news of Gasm Drinks at The Game Fair. This year’s event takes place from 28th to 30thJuly at Ragley Hall in Warwickshire. Celebrity Chef James Martin has created a special menu for guests in the Enclosureand Sunday lunch will be hosted by comedy royalty Paul Whitehouse, which should be worth the ticket price alone. Having a lunch overseen by James Martin while being entertained by Paul Whitehouse sounds magnificent, especially if you can pop around the corner for a glass of Gasm! You can book tickets here.
The Open and Glorious Goodwood.
Fans of golf will be hoping for British success in The Open, and Tommy Fleetwood and Rory McIlroy are, as of the time of writing, very much in the running. Good luck Tommy and Rory!
Later this month, we’ll be looking forward to Glorious Goodwood and coming up with some ideas to make it extra special. Right now, though, we have events to prepare for!
